Samir Mohammed Exclusive Interview
January 2006
109 fights undefeated - how is it possible?
It is possible and it is true !!!! I have been now for 12 years fighting all around the planet with many very nice souvenirs and memories.
Can you ever lose?
Yes I will lose one day but of course I do everything posible to stay unbeaten so I never stop training
and every fight is a hard challenge as the one who will beat me will be famous in 1 fight !! So all my opponent really do their best for sure !
What do you do for a living?
I have work as an educator for children, working for the city of Marguerittes where I train with the TEAM CABRERA . Stephane Cabrera my manager/ trainer helped me to get this job with the mayor of the city and they let me train and compete when I want. So I have a job and I can still practice kickboxing without any problems.
Who have been big influences on your career?
My Uncle Korchi Lillou who was long ago a kickboxer and Stephane Cabrera my manager/trainer along with Dominique Roman my fitness trainer. I started this sport because of them.
Some people criticise that you only fight on WKN shows - what do you say to them?
I never heard about this before, you are the first journalist to tell me this . I just can say that I fight with any federation if the conditions are serious ones, regarding which I ask with my manager and I fight WKN because all WKN shows are with TV and it is important for me to have TV exposure regarding my sponsors . But I never refuse any fights and if I refuse it was only because the financial agreement was not good enough . I don't do politics because I'm a fighter so I don't know too much about federations and problems. I just know that with WKN all my fights are always on the top regarding media , press , TV and that is important for me as I explained before.
You fought Jean Charles Skarbowski before - please tell us about that fight?
The fight was a good fight, Jean Charles is a nice person that I respect a lot. Even though he came to the weigh in with + 3 kg overweight of the agreement that we had ( He was 66,700 kg and I was 63,400 kg ), it was not a a problem because I wanted this fight for a very long time ! ! ! ! And regarding all the press after our fight I think that with Jean Charles we have made a really fight in the ring, both doign our job for the spectators.
You were pencilled in to fight Richard Cadden before on one of Master Skens show but wouldn't fight with elbows - why was that?
First of all I don't know who Richard Cadden is and if I do not have a fight it is because of the fee that they propose to my manager that was not really enough and serious in consdiertaion of my fame and record . Be sure that I'm ready to fight anybody at any time if the challenge is serious and under serious financial conditions . Also we never accepted anything as last year I was offered to fight in Japan in K1 max ..but it turned out to be at 72 kg that is really not my weight at all so we turned it down.
What different styles have you fought in?
Thai Boxing,Full Contact, Kickboxingand also 3 fights in Pro BOXING with 3 wins.
Which is your favourite style?
I do not have favourite style as I like to fight so I like all styles.
How did you find boxing compared to kickboxing?
Boxing is very different but the spirit is the same. You are in the ring to make your best fight and the style is diferent in many ways, but the ring is the same !
Have you ever fought in Thailand?
No never, I was supposed to fight on the 5 of December this year for Kings Birthday for French TV CANAL + but I had the fights with Gary Hamilton in Belfast that was arranged a lon time before so I couldn't do it!
You fought in England once before against Frankie Hudders - please tell us about that fight?
It was very long ago !! I think I was 16 years old and they told me about the fight 2 days before! It was a nice fight and Frankie is a nice guy and a good fighter. I met with him one time in London at an Ali Jacko show and I was very impressed about his " hunger to win ". He was the only one to beat a Thai that night on that show.
Is there anyone in particular that you would like to fight?
No as I feel I have fought some of the best around the world but for me every fight is a new challenge so I can't wait for my next fight !!!!You also have to know that I don't choose myself who I fight and who I don't fight. I'm under contract with a company "WKN Management Ltd" that decide for me and I trust them 1000%. I wouldn't be 109 fights and no losses if my team was not good to manage my career.
Who has been your hardest opponent?
I had some hard fights against Kamel Jamel from France , Alexander Kozachenko from Ukraine, the South American Champion Da Silva and of course Jean Charles Skarbowski. But to tell you the truth every fight is difficult because every one is a really new challenge for me.

What has been your favourite fight?
I keep a good memory of everyone and maybe my biggest memories are when I won against Kamel Jamel and Jean Charles Skarbowski as they are from my country and regarding French people it was the biggest challenge I could have.
What are your ambitions for the future?
I want to keep fighting all around the world and give to my public as much pleasuree as I can.
Is there anything you would like to say in closing?
I would like to give you good luck for your new online magazine and good luck !! I hope to fight in UK soon and my manager is now talking to JKO promotions about a possible fight in London! Let's see ....
